Here is the latest Spider-Man reboot or Spider-Man 4 (for some) news for you. A high school bully, although not a villain, was introduced and TheWrap has more information about this development.
Chris Zylka will take on the role of Flash Thompson in Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot.
In the comic book series, Thompson is a high-school jock who bullies Peter Parker (“Puny Parker”), but is a huge fan of Spider-Man. In later stories, the pair become friends.
Zylka’s previous form comprises mostly TV work, including roles in Hannah Montana, Everybody Hates Chris, Cougar Town and 10 Things I Hate About You.
This year he made an appearance at Cannes with sci-fi comedy Kaboom, in which he plays Thor, and he has fun-sounding Untitled 3D Shark Thriller due out next year.
So it’s fair to say this is his big break.
Zylka joins a cast that already includes Andrew Garfield as the web-slinging superhero, and Emma Stone as his love interest Gwen Stacy.
