Here is the season 3 premiere synopsis of Rookie Blue airing on May 24.

Andy’s real life comes flooding back when she returns to 15 Division after a three-month suspension, ready to face an official tribunal that will decide if she should be reinstated to active duty.

Reuniting with her police family, she also meets her possible replacement – new rookie Nick Collins.

A tense face-off with fellow officer Sam Swarek is interrupted when they are involved in a multi-car collision, caused by a very drunk driver, Henry McLeod (William Shatner), with a serious grudge against the police.

When a mysterious young girl vanishes from the scene of the accident, Andy connects her to a seven-year-old cold case.

Will Andy-still on suspension – and the rest of the Division be able to find the missing girl and uncover the circumstances of her disappearance before it is too late? Whether Andy and Sam can reignite the passion they once had may be an even bigger question.

Rookie Blue season 2 gave us a very exciting and interesting finale with “God’s Good Grace.” So what happened? Let’s discuss below.

TV Fanatic: Was anyone else as continually suspicious of new officer Pete as I was? He was just too eager and into everyone’s business. Of course, I could’ve  just been paranoid. He is a rookie after all.

I was really disappointed in Chris when he opened his big mouth and told Pete about Andy’s personal business. Although I didn’t think he was trying to be mean, I just think there are moments when Chris isn’t very bright.

I did appreciate the look Dov shot him, though. I was pretty sure Epstein wanted to give him a smack and, heck, I wouldn’t blame him.

It was certainly apropos that Luke was the one to ask who Candace was. Thankfully, Jerry ignored the question until they stepped outside, but Luke looked sucker punched when he told him it was Andy. Hey, he can be upset but it’s not like Andy cheated on him. She just moved on.

Gail was back to true form in this episode and I absolutely loved it. How much fun was her conversation with Detective Armstrong? Abrasive, blunt, and straight to the point, that’s when Gail really shines.

And did anyone else think Gail was setting her sights on Luke? Now there’s a pairing I hadn’t considered. Chris was the one who dumped her  Could Luke be a rebound on the way back to Dov or do you think these two have any lasting potential?

Am I the only one who felt like Noelle and Frank were moving way too fast? Didn’t they just have a first date? Now it’s baby makes three?!? I’m all for seeing them happy, I just felt like we’ve skipped a couple of steps on the way there.

So much for God’s Good Grace. Swarek was getting his ass kicked by Brennan. Nothing like a little makeshift waterboarding to get someone’s attention.

As vicious as Brennan was, the stories about his little girl broke my heart. Of course Sam was right. It was his own past that caught up with him and his family paid the price.

I was glad Swarek got his face time with Boyd at the end, but I really wanted to see the dirty detective hauled out in cuffs for covering up a murder and putting Swarek’s life on the line. He surely would’ve pinned it all on Andy if Sam hadn’t survived.

It bothered me a little that we didn’t get a celebratory hug between Sam and Andy when Sam was rescued but I guess that would have been inappropriate with all of their fellow officers around.

I wish we could have seen Andy at least get in the car with Sam, but him asking her to come and try out being normal with him will have to satisfy me until next summer.

To find out what normal means for Sam and Andy, we’ll all have to wait and see.

Overall, I love this finale of Rookie Blue? What can you say about it?

The ABC hit is already thinking ahead to season three, and has already made a major casting announcement regarding the premiere: William Shatner will guest star on the first episode next summer as a drunk driver.

Says executive producer Tassie Cameron to TV Line of the role: it “starts comic and ends dramatic, so we’re hoping it gives him a chance to do what he does so well… He’s got such great range.”

Shatner will next be seen in a recurring role this fall on Psych, where he’s on board as Juliet’s father.

A great episode for Sandy in “A Little Faith.” So what happened?

TV Fanatic: Bucking the trend of most prime time programs that insist on keeping their leads apart for as long as possible, “A Little Faith” gave fans what they craved and, damn, I couldn’t be happier.

But let’s get some other story points out of the way first.

Did anyone else think that Chris was being a little too hard on Gail? Yes, she got close to his best friend, but Dov was the one professing his love, not Gail. Chris’ Goldilocks bed hopping comment was over the top. I’ve never believed that Chris and Gail would survive long term, but Chris dumping her over this seemed a bit harsh and unfair.

Then, it was game on as Andy, Traci and Dov were sent out on an undercover training field trip. No phone, no money, no ID. Who could make it back the next morning with the most cash and drugs?

I figured Dov could win this one and he didn’t disappoint. As Shaw said, deep down Dov was so insecure I knew he’d go above and beyond to win. I never thought he’d use his late brother’s drug history to steal from his dealer, but I give him extra points for being both creative and ruthless.

Traci and Andy were so entertaining as they came up with their undercover personas. Only McNally would decide to be an insurance overwriter. The girl picked one of the most boring jobs on earth and couldn’t even get the term right.

Traci completely sold her pool shark/stripper act but her and Andy’s girl-on-girl kissing needed some work. Then again, as lame as it looked, it still seemed to distract the guys – so mission accomplished.

As disappointed as I was in Andy when she told the dealer they had to call an ambulance (what dealer wants an ambulance at his place?), I loved how badass Traci was when she made up the story about the girl’s biker boyfriend. Looks like undercover work might end up in Traci’s future. That girl can think on her feet.

I was happy just to see the look on Sam’s face when he saw Andy. Then when Andy went back and propositioned him and he sent her away, I thought we’d be playing the almost but not quite there yet game again.

Thankfully, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only was the love scene incredibly hot, the aftermath was funny and sexy and everything I expected from Sandy.

Sam even shared that his chosen undercover persona was Ernie the zamboni driver. Oh my God, I couldn’t stop laughing. I think that one only works in Canada. Sam and Andy went from hot and sexy to cute and funny, and right back to hot and sexy again. Sigh. All I can say is that I want more. A lot more.

Of course, with Sam undercover, that gives the show a plausible reason to keep them apart for a while longer and ramp up the danger and the angst. But tonight’s love scene will sustain me for a while – and can you imagine how great their reunion will be?

Adding some horses in the story made “Brotherhood” interesting. Why? Find out below.

TV Fanatic: It was time for equine training on Rookie Blue and those horses made things interesting for our officers, as “Brotherhood” brought loyalties into question and feelings to the surface.

This episode wasn’t quite so Andy-centric, but it was satisfying nevertheless. Andy was working on her lone wolf status as she turned down her riding instructor when he hit on her. It was a smart move. She needed the time to clear her head and the training got her away from both Luke and Sam.

Although… did you catch that lingering look at the station when Frank made them turn to the person next to them and remind themselves that that person deserved their best? Andy practically blushed and Sam couldn’t take his eyes off her.

I always appreciate having at least one good Sandy moment per episode.

Elsewhere, Noelle kept running from poor Frank. How could she say they didn’t need to talk about it when she’s the one who brought it up? I know, she was trying to avoid getting dumped before their relationship even got started, but it looked like Frank had other plans. Apparently the man knows how to kiss.

Mary found an interesting way to prevent a murder: she called in a bomb threat. Her boyfriend’s gang affiliation really sent Swarek’s radar spinning. And didn’t he and Ollie make the best partners? I could watch an entire hour of just the two of them sitting in a car.

Loved how Traci was the one to pick up that Mary was pregnant. Once you’ve been there the symptoms become glaringly obvious.

What I really appreciated was how Jerry backed Traci. Even though he thought Mary was lying about her motives, he didn’t dismiss Traci’s take on it. He told her she was a good cop and to go with her instincts. I was never Jerry’s biggest fan but my opinion of him just skyrocketed.

Then, we got to Dov and Gail. First, I loved the way she poked at him for being a mini-Swarek. So true and very funny.

I was expecting something different from this storyline. When Dov took too many pain pills, I thought his irresponsibility would put Gail in danger, but they went in a totally different direction.

The look on Gail’s face when Dov told her that the only problem with his perfect girlfriend was that she wasn’t Gail was priceless. Then, he rambled on about them getting married and Christmas morning with their blonde kids and you could tell Gail couldn’t believe her ears.

I was wondering if Dov would remember any of it but it looked like he did and now that’s a moment he can’t take back. Once you’ve said something like that out loud, everything changes, whether you want it to or not.

From there… oh, poor Chris. His old friend just got done using him and shattering his trust when he walked up on a moment between Dov and Gail. Not that they were really doing anything but the looks on their faces spoke volumes.

It is already confirmed that we will see the third season of Rookie Blue.

So Travis Milne can look ahead a bit and project what he thinks will happen to his character of Chris Diaz.

Sam Swarek, meet your doppelganger?

“We’re gonna see him become a bit of a bad ass,” Milne told me last week. “You might make some comparisons to Swarek, not that Swarek is mean, but he’s more edgy and more aware of evils in the city than Chris has been.”

Indeed, Diaz was the most naive of all rookie officers when we first met him. He was a stickler for rules, one who believed in a black-and-white answer for everything.

As events and cases have unfolded, Diaz has changed. For the better, Milne thinks.

“It’s been exciting to play a character whose systematically unfolding new aspects of his life. By being introduced to many things, his eyes are definitely open. He sees the other side of life and is becoming a better person because his mind isn’t so closed.”

What can we expect on the season finale? The actor was mostly mum, but did offer this vague tease:

“Some things will happen to Chris that aren’t so good. Instead of accepting them, he decides to thrown down the gauntlet.”

Do you think the season 2 finale of Rookie Blue will be exciting?

Rookie Blue gave as a “Monster” of an episode. What happened? Read below/

TV Fanatic: I loved the feigned nonchalance of veterans who had been through this all before. Oliver’s attitude was that there was nothing to be afraid of until you knew what to be afraid of. Then, Henry Lee died and that act got a little harder to maintain.

Wow. Dov had big plans for his date. What were they doing? Hanging out at the bar and then “whatever?” Way to make a girl feel special.

I’ve got to admit, they had me feeling sympathy for grouchy smurf. He and his wife had lost everything. Even though their plan was stupid, beating up the bank manager was much worse. Unfortunately, this couple will no longer have to worry about where they’ll be sleeping.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Chris, but he scored big points with his crazy romantic gesture. Yes, if Gail had really been infected it would have been a stupid move – but it said a lot that he wouldn’t let her go through that alone.

Elsewhere, Noelle really needed to cut Frank a break. They’ve barely dated. They’re not even ready to call it dating yet and she springs her baby plans on him and expected… what? The guy deserved some time to process that type on information.

I was happy we got a bit of a break from the Luke and Andy drama. I know the fallout was still there, but at least there were no big dramatic scenes between the two.

But Luke’s one response to Dov certainly showed where his head was at:

Luke: Good strategy dating someone outside of your division. That way when it all goes to hell you won’t have to see her face every day.
Jo’s gone, Andy wanted nothing to do with him and Luke was definitely feeling a little bitter. Aww. Poor baby.

On the flip side, it was great to see Sam try and help Andy through her breakup, as a friend. He read her so well that he knew exactly what she needed and he was more than willing to be her literal punching bag.

Some critics were pissed. Other characters in Rookie Blue season 2 feel the same after episode 7 titled “The One That Got Away.” What happened?

TV Fanatic: There was one character I simply wished would leave: Luke. Andy was pissed. She was cheated on, lied to and made to look like a fool in front of her friends and coworkers. She let Luke know that she wasn’t taking him back. She just wanted it all to fade away.

If it were only that easy.

Jo, on the other hand, was going after what she wanted. I sort of liked her attitude. She told Luke she wanted him. They slept together. Andy left and now it was time for Luke to make a decision.

The person I didn’t like in all of this was Luke. I know he was taken by surprise when Jo kissed him in the bar, but that elbow to the chest he gave her seemed a little harsh.

Luke kept acting like Jo was the bad guy. It’s not like Jo tricked him into screwing around in a hotel room. He’s a big boy. He walked into that with his eyes open. Plus, Jo’s not the one who was engaged at the time.

Then, he grew angry at Jo because she didn’t blindly follow his way of thinking during the investigation? Yes, Luke was correct and Andy believed him, but Jo was right, too. Nixon killed Zoey but Sophie’s attacker was a copycat and Luke might have missed it being so focused on the suspect he knew was guilty.

Andy couldn’t hide her disdain of Jo and I really couldn’t blame her, but it did nothing to help her hide what happened between her and Luke from the precinct. Did you see the look on Sam’s face when he realized that Jo slept with Luke? It was just after Jo sent Andy out for pizza. If looks could kill, Jo would need life support.

And that’s why Sam seemed so disgusted when Andy continued to have Luke’s back. Andy believed in Luke’s theory, even after he cheated on her. It was a little too much blind devotion for Sam to take. He had to walk away. Unfortunately, that gave Luke the opportunity to play hero.

Nixon was scary. He was a big guy with military training and you could tell from his trophy collection that he was very precise about his kills. When he cornered Andy in the storage locker, all I kept thinking was that this guy could tear her apart.

I was glad there was a copy cat because it gave us a great scene with Dov and Gail. These two exude chemistry, even while bantering over ugly, green, shag carpet. It just made me want to see them together more often.
