Max Brown is coming to CW’s Beauty and the Beast.

British actor  Brown (Spooks) has been added to the cast of the CW/CBS Studios pilot Beauty & The Beast. Loosely based on the 1980s CBS series, the project centers on Catherine (Kristin Kreuk), a tough-minded NYPD homicide detective. Brown will play Evan, aa Medical Examiner who regularly works with Catherine.

The CW pilot also stars Kristin Kreuk as Catherine Chandler, Jay Ryan as Vincent Koslow, Austin Basis as J.T. Forbes, Nicole Gale Anderson as Heather Chandler and Nina Lisandrello as Tess O’Malley.

New Zealand actor Jay Ryan, who played the Terra Nova security guard who was famously banished for murdering a fellow colony member, has landed the male lead opposite Kreuk in Beauty and the Beast.

Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk is coming to CW’s Beauty and the Beast.

The Canadian actress best known for playing Lana Lang for close to a decade has been tapped to star in the younger-skewing network’s Beauty and the Beast. The project, loosely based on the 1980s CBS series of the same name, is a modern-day romantic love story with a procedural twist.
