Your American Idol Season 10 winner is… Scotty McCreery!

Yes, Scotty got the majority of the 122 million votes. Amazing huh?!

Immediately after receiving the honor, Scotty gave Lauren Alaina props and said: “Never in my wildest dreams. I gotta thank the Lord. He got me here.”

He then proceeded to belt out a version of “I Love You This Big,” interrupting himself at various times to hug family members, friends and fellow finalists. He knelt, cried and became the champion.

What about that Scotty and Lauren kiss on the lips?

There is no doubt that the season 10 finale performance night of American Idol brings not only great performances but also drama, especially on Lauren’s sprained voice.

But the 16-year old powered through, telling viewers she was “fine” – and then proving that to be a massive understatement during a three-song set that may have earned her the season 10 crown.

Lauren saved her most impressive performance for last, introducing the audience to “Like My Mother Does,” an emotional single that will be Alaina’s first release if she wins. She sang the concluding notes to a special guest in the crowd:

Jennifer Lopez couldn’t hide her feelings after this rendition. She labeled the track a “perfect” choice for Lauren and came right out and said it may have won her the title.

As for Scotty McCreery?

Not a bad evening by any means, but this aspiring country star lacked a signature performance.

He opened with “Gone,” and the ballad left the panelists speechless. But voters will be less likely to reward a solid version of a song they already heard this season from an artist.

McCreery then broke out the acoustic guitar for George Strait’s selection, “Check Yes or No” and followed it with “I Love You This Big,” selling it well, but only earning faint praise from Randy.

“I’m not sure it was the perfect song for you, but the range was great,” the Dawg said. “Dude, you know what? I’m proud of you, because you’ve grown during this contest, and that was a brilliant vocal.”

Overall, I think it will be Scotty.

The season 10 finale of American Idol will feature two of the youngest finalists. Believe it or not, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina’s combined age is only 34 years old.

So what can we expect from the final performance night?

  • Carrie Underwood has selected a single for Lauren, while George Strait has done the same for Scotty.
  • The other two tracks will be chosen by the producers and by the contestants themselves, who pick their favorite from the season.
  • The Edge and Bono will perform on tomorrow night’s results show, but not with U2. Instead, they’ll be hyping the June 14 opening of the controversial Broadway production Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark.

I’m not surprised on the results night of American Idol season 10. I saw this one coming. Haley Reinhart won’t  reach the finale as she was eliminated last night.

Following a performance show on Tuesday that consisted of three performances by the three remaining contestants, Ryan Seacrest delivered the bad news to Haley Reinhart last night: she was going home.

This leaves Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery to battle it out next week for the season 10 title.

Reacting with both shock and gratitude, Reinhart looked around the venue after the eliminated was announced and said: “My oh my. This is the biggest platform any girl, anybody, could ask for. I rocked it out, and I had a blast.”

She then belted out another rendition of “Bennie and the Jets,” receiving a standing ovation as she made her way into the audience.

So who will be the winner on American Idol Season 10? Scotty or Lauren?

On this week’s American Idol Season 10, Haley fell but she stood up and gave her best performance! So let’s see what else happened on the performance of the final three contestants.

See Haley’s performance below:

TV Fanatic: First, Haley Reinhart actually tripped over a set of stairs during her rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “What Is and What Should Never Be,” but the mishap may have just made the performance even more memorable.

After the ovation died down, Randy told Haley she was “slaying it,” which doesn’t bode well for Lauren Alaina. That contestant actually flubbed a key change during a cover of “If I Die Young.” J. Lo kindly referred to it as an “honest moment.”

But will it spell the end of Lauren’s run?

Scotty McCreery seems like a sure thing for at least one finale slot, following a trio of strong performances. They highlighted by “She Believes in Me,” a track that incorporated a piano and a string section and a chorus that led to Steven Tyler remarking: “You put it over the top for me just now.”

After the performances, who’s your bet now?

This week’s elimination night of American Idol Season 10 brings us no surprise.

Jacob Lusk outlasted Casey Abrams to make the final five, but won’t be going on to the final four after voters bid him farewell yesterday evening.

Jacob and Lauren Alaina landed in the bottom two after a season high 60 million votes were cast, and somewhat predictably, Lusk had the lower total of the two.

It’s the end of the road for the youngster dubbed the next Luther Vandross.

Lusk really struggled Wednesday with his renditions of both songs, and seemed to have lost his confidence, which all but guaranteed this was his swan song.

So are you in favor of Jacob Lusk’s elimination?

Even though Pia Toscano did not make it to the end of American Idol, I think she regrets nothing in joining such competition. Imagine receiving $100,000 for a party!

Here is an American Idol scoop from NYPost. The 23-year-old singer made a deal over the weekend to sing at a private birthday party this week for a staggering $100,000 fee.

Officials at “Idol” yesterday said they could not immediately confirm the report, first carried on the gossip Web site TMZ. But, according to the site, Pia first turned down an offer of $50,000 to sing. The party people then doubled the offer and Pia, who used to be a wedding band singer before making it to the “Idol” finals last winter, accepted.

No word on who was giving the May 8 birthday party or where in LA it was being held. Toscano was, at one point, considered the best singer in this year’s crop and a good bet to give New York its first “Idol” winner.
Still, she has gotten more attention than anyone else on the show since her shocking dismissal three weeks ago.

So do you think the $100k is for real? Did she really turned down the initial offer of $50k? What’s your take?
