Too bad, it’s gonna be over soon.

Harry’s Law fans, I know we are all disappointed about the news that the show won’t get a third season. Yes it was not renewed and this is according to Kathy Bates herself.

I just hope that they will give us a satisfying series finale next week.

Jon Bernthal is out of The Walking Dead but he will visit Kathy Bates in ‘Harry’s Law season 2.

Bernthal – who was killed off that AMC hit on the penultimate season two episode, and who will start shooting TNT’s L.A. Noir – will appear on a May Sweeps episode of Harry’s Law.

The deal is almost complete, TV Line reports, for Bernthal to guest star on the Kathy Bates drama as a man who takes a courtroom hostage after the suspect accused of raping/murdering his sister is acquitted.

Jon is busy huh?

It is now confirmed that we will see Malcolm again before season 2 of Harry’s Law ends.

Expect to see Malcolm (Aml Ameen) again later this season. “I know a lot of people where disappointed when Harry moved upstairs and got away from the ghetto. And this story takes us back into the ghetto, and really addresses what’s been going on in the neighborhood and the gentrification of the neighborhood. So I’m very excited about that episode.”

Kathy Bates, who earned an Emmy nomination last year for her portrayal of curmudgeonly attorney Harry on the David E. Kelley series, admits she’ll be the first person checking the show’s ratings the next morning. “Unfortunately , I’ve gotten into that habit. What I really should do is not look at the Internet at all ’cause it makes me want to put a bullet in my brain,” she tells EW candidly. “Some of these people are just so stupid. I don’t even get it…. All [they] talk about is the blessed [18-49] demo this, demo that, and how the cancellation bear is gonna eat us and all that stuff. So we’ll see. We’ll just see.”

“It really bugs the crap out of me when I read online that this is the lowest-rated show on NBC, ’cause all they’re talking about is the demo. They totally disregard the number of viewers. And, you know, as somebody who’s 63 years old, I really take offense at that because we do have an audience of older viewers, I think, for the most part.”

Any thoughts about Malcolm’s return on Harry’s Law?

Justine Lupe is coming to Harry’s Law season 2 as a series regular.

Up-and-comer Justine Lupe, who recently joined the cast of NBC’s sophomore dramedy Harry’s Law as a recurring guest star, has been quickly promoted to regular on David E. Kelley’s sophomore legal dramedy. Lupe, repped by Gersh and Authentic Talent, plays Phoebe, the firm’s vivacious newest hire who is unprepared for the rigors of life at a law firm.

What do you think about this new character?

Changes are still haunting the second season of Harry’s Law. “There Will Be Blood” gave us a so-so episode but the critics have something to say about it.

The Good:

Tommy is becoming one of my favorite characters. From his encouraging speeches to Harry to his explanation to Marcus the three ways he gets people to do the right thing, I totally enjoyed the character.

Adam was in the episode a lot more. His talk to James Sanders (Ross Benjamin) made it tough for me to hold a straight face throughk as Benjamin makes an amazing “loon,” as his father put it.

Cassie is fitting right in. If Cassie had been the only addition this season, it wouldn’t have taken me more than an episode to adopt her into the family and not even remember what it was like without her there. We really need to call her “Harry-lite” or “Latina-Harry.”

The Bad:

What happened to the music? If you listen to the opening credits with the light-hearted whistle and near circus excitement tones, and then listen to the scene change, commercial return or other quiet scenes, the two are night and day different.

Where is Harry’s witty dialog? To this day, I still use and quote Harry’s line from last season were she told Rachel “Can I interrupt you, this is important… I’ve stopped listening!” I have seen nothing close to this so far this season. I did see an increase in obscenities, through, including a bleeped out F-Bomb.

Last week I wanted to slap Roseanna (Jean Smart). This week she began doing such outlandish things that I just started rolling my eyes. What kind of District Attorney talks about her sex life with two detectives? I’m horribly afraid that her character is just going to slide down the “evil is dumb” slide as this case moves along.

The Ugly:

Is the city of Cincinnati paying David E. Kelly for all the advertising he is doing for them? Is it me or was every scene change or commercial break lead in with more scenery from Cincinnati? We get it already, she is working in Cincinnati!

If the city of Cincinnati isn’t, certainly Apple must be paying Kelly. Last week, Harriet mentioned how her iPad hasdgotten her spoiled on technology, even though we have never seen her touch a computer. This week, Tommy proudly announced he recorded the confession they beat out of a delivery driver on his iPhone 4 in HD!

Speaking of beating, I know Ollie is new to the team, but I was very disappointed they went the route of physical violence. From Tommy’s banter and Harriet’s brilliance there were so many other creative ways they could have gotten Marcus to spill the info he possessed. While I will admit I chuckled at the surprised look on Adam’s face, like Harry I was totally appalled afterwards.

Overall, the critics are not having fun with Harry’s Law season 2. How about the viewers? What did you think?

Harry’s Law is back with its second season. “Hosanna Roseanna” started everything well until we learned that changes already occurred in the show. Some are good and some are not so.

TV Fanatic: First, there was the new office directly above Harry’s shoe store/office. There was no elevator in their office before, so it was a little strange to see her walk in and press a button to be taken to her digs.

Before you say it could have been built, it’s not new; it’s clearly as old as the building. But I’m willing to concede that they could have remodeled/expanded the shoe store office and absorbed an elevator from the rest of building, so I’ll let this one go.
But I draw the line at the sheer number of no-name extras roaming around in the office when Harry came out on the second floor. There is no reason Harry would suddenly hire dozens of people she hasn’t met. Harry said it best when she asked, “Who are all these people?” I want to know the same thing, Harry. How did you go from a struggling team of five to whatever the heck that was?

That’s when the biggest change landed and Tommy Jefferson walked out of his office. HIS OFFICE?!?

Why does Tommy have an office at Harry’s? Oh, Tommy and Harry are sharing an office space, but not practices. Huh? Really? REALLY?!

Come on! I know Tommy was a fun recurring character last season, but he wouldn’t have been my first choice to become a series regular. Actually, I’m not sure he would have even made my list at all.

At this point, either we have all been sucked into an alternate dimension or David E. Kelley has decided that for the sophomore season he would reshape the show into what he envisioned the show to be originally. I’m going with choice number two.

That being said, I have to give Mr. Kelley credit. He got all the really big shockers over in the first five minutes of the premiere. It was the TV equivalent of pulling off a band aid. With the unexplained changes out of the way, let’s look at the additions that were explained.

First, there was at least one new lawyer, Cassie Reynolds. I like her. Watching her break the rules to help Bennett get the painting of his daughter back reminded me of something Harry would do; she and Harry are going to get along very well.

Then there was Ollie Richard, played by Mark Valley. Having watch Valley on the first season of Fringe and then again on Human Target, I think he may be a hunky addition to the show. Where Adam has a tendency to go flying around the room like a sparrow looking for a window out, Ollie strikes me as the cool and collected type.

Then you have Jean Smart and Alfred Molina, set for multiple episodes as the Eric Sanders’ case takes center stage. Did anyone else know that Smart could play a despicable bitch so well? I wanted to slap her so many times my wife threatened to turn it into a drinking game.

She is going to make a very good adversary indeed. Of course, Molina is always amazing, so any screen time he gets is going to be golden. I swear I could just listen to him read a grocery list and I would be mesmerized by it.

As announced during the summer, Jenna and Malcolm aren’t returning as series regulars. While sad, their story was awkward and clunky at the best of times, so I’m fine with them being gone; however, it appears that Jenna will be in the same episode arc that Smart and Molina are in as they are written out.

So what grade will you give the season 2 premiere of Harry’s Law?

Jason Alexander appear on Harry’s Law season 2.

According to TV Guide Magazine, the man forever known as George Costanza will appear on the fifth episode of the fall as a school teacher who gets suspended because he gives a student an F… for referring to Darwinism as a “crock.’

Alexander appeared this summer on an installment of Franklin & Bash. Harry’s Law, meanwhile, premieres on September 21 and has undergone a few casting changes in the off-season.
