Twilight meets X-Men? I don’t like the combination!
Director/Producer Bryan Singer, who is now shepherding X-Men: First Class into production, had apparently wanted Eclipse star Taylor Lautner to play a mutant in the new prequel to the X-Men film series, but it wasn’t possible due to scheduling.
I just can’t get it on what Singer is thinking. Taylor as a mutant is not that convincing for me. So it’s good that he is busy on his new projects.
“I wanted Taylor [Lautner] to do it, I really did,” Singer said in an interview with Blastr. “He’s doing a movie in Pittsburgh called ‘Abduction’ and then he’s got the next ‘Twilight’ movie. We talked about it a lot, he is a friend, and I really wanted to make it work. It just doesn’t look like it’s possible to do it.”
This following reports that Lautner was seen at one of Singer’s notorious parties in Hollywood a few months ago has been fueling rumors that the hunky teen star may be homosexual. While Lautner’s sexual orientation is his own business, he’s apparently become a new object of affection to the gay community.

Once a Marvel movie is on the production phase, many people, including the critics, are interested on one factor that should be perfectly done – the costume! It is evident that this aspect contributes a lot on the success or failure of a movie. So in the upcoming “First Avenger: Captain America” movie, many people had their own comments when the official costume leaked on the internet. But also, it is interesting to hear the side or insight of the one who will be wearing the said costume. Below is the interview to Chris Evans.
Evans: It’s an amazing costume. Given the fact that his costume is red, white and blue, and it’s tight, and it could be kind of flash and over the top — and given the fact that the movie takes place in the ’40s and ’50s — they’ve done a really good job of making it look really cool. I think everyone that’s going to see it is going to say, “Okay, well done. Well done. I think they got the costume right. The casting they completely ruined, but the costume they nailed!”
He also admitted that Captain America gear is not that comfortable!
Evans: [In the Fantastic Four suit] you could move around quite well. This is a little more cumbersome. It doesn’t exactly breathe the way the Fantastic Four costume breathed, but it’s the way it should be. Any type of World War II uniform would be a little chunky, and I think that’s what kind of gives it its character.
He talked about the shield-throwing testing!
Evans: We’ve been testing a lot of shields. Last time I was in London they had six shields and I had to hold each one, see if I was comfortable with each one, see which one we all thought had the right look. The thing is pretty heavy, so I’m not sure I can throw it that far! I’ll give it my best shot, but hopefully they’ll have some sort of stunt shield when it comes to actually chucking it!

At this year’s Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, Comic Book Movie presented the pictures of logos for Thor and Captain America. Personally, I would say that the logos are somehow cool and awesome. Plus, there is also a revelation on the Captain America logo because it shows us a different order on the title and subtitle.

Before seeing the logo, we know that the movie will have the title “The First Avenger: Captain America” but evidently, it will be replaced by “Captain America: The First Avenger”. I hope we will get some explanations soon from Marvel Studios about this matter.

McAvoy will play the role of Professor X on X-men: First Class but aside from that no one is sure for a certain mutant role. This can be the main reason why 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios posted an open casting call. The casting call was posted on FeatureFilmCasting stating that it will be conducted  in Los Angeles and London.
The CoventryTelegraph blog also indicated that several production staff of Kick-Ass had joined the production of the X-Men prequel. This includes Russell De Rozario as production designer, John King as supervising art director, Ben Davis as cinematographer and Sammy Sheldon as costume designer. Kick-Ass composer Ilan Eshkeri has also been hired to score X-Men: First Class.
Rumors:
Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson is included in the First Class movie and he is most-eyed to play the role of Cyclops. On the casting call, actors who can pull off a Cajun accent are priorities. This can indicate that we will see Gambit in the movie. I’m sure many X-men comics fanatics will go crazy because Gambit first joined X-Men as an adult.

Little by little, the cast of the upcoming movie “The First Avenger: Captain America” is being pieced together. The latest additions are Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan and Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine.

Dum Dum Dugan is an officer of S.H.I.E.L.D and is one of the most experienced members of Nick Fury’s Team, known for his marksmanship with rifles and for his impressive physique. He is recognized for his trademark bowler hat. McDonough appeared on movies like Street Fighter: The Legends of Chun-Li, 88 Minutes and Flags of our Fathers.

On the other hand, Dr. Abraham Erskine is a scientist who first developed the Super-Soldier Serum, as well as the Vita-Rays designed to create an army of enhanced human beings whose physical defects and limitations would be eliminated for the USA World War II efforts. It would be Erskine’s process that transformed Clinton McIntyre into a Protocide but accidentally killing McIntyre and later successfully scrawny Steve Rogers into muscular Captain America.
Stanley Tucci is a movie veteran appearing on several outstanding movies like Julie and Julia, The Lovely Bones, The Devil Wears Prada, The Terminal and Maid in Manhattan.
