Guess what? You are not the only shocked on the season 4 finale of The Big Bang Theory. Kunal Nayyar (Raj) felt the same thing.

The Big Bang Theory star, whose character of Raj did the deed with Penny on that sitcom’s fourth season finale, said at CTV’s 2011-12 Fall launch this week that he didn’t see the development coming.

“I was quite surprised when that happened,” said Nayyar. “There was no indication during the season that we were leading up to that.”

So what will happen with Penny and Raj on season 5?

“To be honest, my first instinct to what happened is that perhaps Raj should try to apologize to Leonard and rebuild that friendship first. But on the other hand, it would be pretty cool to date Penny, too.”

We all know that Lisa Edelstein or Cuddy is no longer a series regular starting House season 8. However, is there a chance that she’ll come back to give us some closure?

Here’s the answer. It’s conceivable, but unlikely, producer David Shore tells Entertainment Weekly.

“We have to plan for her not coming back,” he said. “It might be interesting to get her in for an episode or two somewhere to wrap up Cuddy, probably would make fans happy, but we have to plan unfortunately on her not coming back because there’s no indication that she would at this point.”

The shocking season finale actually did set things up well for Cuddy to exit – wouldn’t you change jobs if your subordinate plowed a car into your home? – but Shore says the episode was written under the assumption that Edelstein would return.

As for next season, “there definitely may well be more than one” person taking over Cuddy’s job – and he urges fans not to panic.

“House is not going to be totally changed or different.. We have a veteran team of writers and we are not going to let the show take a nosedive eight years in. We just won’t. Bear with us fans. We will turn this into an opportunity I promise. We will find a way to bring something new to the show that will get them excited again. It’s allabout turning obstacles into opportunities. That’s what life is all about. It is a bummer for sure. I loved Cuddy and Lisa but it’s done and now we move forward.”

So what can you say about the Cuddy-less season 8 of House?

We have reported last week that we can expect a murder twist on Burn Notice season 5 episode 4. So here are additional details about the said episode from Jeffrey Donovan.

“There is a big baddie coming, and it has to do with the murder. And the murder involves Michael very, very specifically,” Donovan tells EW. “The bad guy who did that… is going to become a huge, formidable foe, but that’s going to be really in the second half of the season.”

Here are the other things to expect for Burn Notice season 5. Grant Show will portray Michael’s new CIA partner, while viewers will “see Michael and Fi come together like they never have before.”

“If the fans have always wanted to know about Michael’s past before he joined the CIA, they’re going to find out a lot about that,” Donovan teased.

Any thoughts?
