Peter Bishop’s whereabouts is still unknown at the start of Fringe season 4. But what about Walter? What will he do now that his “son” is gone again?
“He doesn’t function very well in the first couple of episodes,” John Noble tells E News! about the state of his character following the shocking May finale. “Without Peter, he’s insane. He won’t leave the lab. He hears voices and has hallucinations… He still can solve problems, but he has to get Astrid to go out with a special [camera] so he can see the crime scenes because he won’t go out himself.”
Despite this hilarious Comic-Con teaser, meanwhile, Joshua Jackson will be back as Peter. What can we expect from that character this fall?
Noble teases:
“What’s happening is we’re going to bring Josh back in as Peter, but not in the same way. Not as a person that’s been there with us all the time, but as a person that comes in our lives at this stage. That’s very different, because the relationship that the audiences know won’t be there. Olivia won’t be in love with him, at least to start with. So we’ve started a whole possibility for relationship growth.”
