Last year we got a gunman on the season 6 finale of Grey’s Anatomy. So what are Shonda Rhimes plan for season 7 finale? Well, there will still be a shootout, but this time it will be an emotional one.

On May 19, Shonda Rhimes promises a season-ender quite unlike the event we saw a year ago, but with some thematic parallels. Here’s what Rhimes told TV Line:

“Last year, we had a gunman … This year, there’s an emotional shootout when the season is done, and Meredith, Alex and Cristina are not left unwounded.”

“What I love about what happens at the end of the season of Grey’s Anatomy is everybody takes very interesting turns,” she continues, “and things will happen that I don’t think anybody is expecting to happen for our characters.”

A clue about Mer’s looming crisis may come in this week’s episode, Shonda says:

“We see Meredith do some things concerning the Alzheimer’s clinical trial that just aren’t good – or even legal – but she feels are right. And once that happens, the consequences for her start to emerge, and it’s about how long she can keep them at bay.”

As for who becomes Chief Resident, that was a fierce debate in the writers room.

“We had big arguments about who should be Chief Resident,” she says, “and part of it really came down to what we wanted the story to be going forward and where all our characters needed to be at the end of the season.”

So what’s your insights on the so-called “emotional shootouts?”

So is it time to say goodbye to Alexis?

Rick Castle, and fans of this ABC hit, may need to adjust to life without a member of the family next season. That’s because Castle creator Andrew Marlowe tells TV Guide he has plans for Alexis.

“Her boyfriend is going off to Stanford” Marlowe teases. “So how is the long-distance relationship going to work? When we leave Episode 23, Alexis has vowed to go to college early, because she has the credits, so she can be with Ashley.”

Here is the latest scoop for Gossip Girl.

According to spoilers, Chuck will never intentionally harm Blair. But he will definitely do something to Queen B.

Ever since this cryptic tease made its way online last week, Gossip Girl fans have frantically been trying to figure out what might happen to their beloved Queen B.

“Never intentionally” still leaves plenty of room for hurt, after all, and we know Chuck’s not in his right mind lately. Anytime you’re chasing coke with scotch? Bad sign.

To that end, TV Line’s Michael Ausiello adds only this in his spoiler column today: “There’s really only one more thing to say on this subject: There will be blood.”

Chuck will not harm Blair intentionally but there will be blood. Kinda puzzling huh?

With the photo below, I am sensing that the so called “life-changer” for Derek and Meredith could be the adoption of a baby. So what do you think?

Taking turns hugging an adorable newborn, with Meredith clutching a copy of Baby’s First Year, are Seattle Grace’s Golden Couple about to become parents after all?

Adoption, interestingly, is a route Shonda Rhimes herself took personally – as a single mom no less – right before she created Grey’s Anatomy. Will her beloved couple follow suit?

Another thing, the following week’s finale (May 19) is titled “Unaccompanied Minor.” I am really feeling the adoption scene in here.

What do you think?
