Mark Valley has just booked a role in Harry’s Law season 2 as a series regular.

With David E. Kelly intent on bolstering the series for its move to Wednesday nights in September, the former Human Target star will come on board as an attorney hired by Kathy Bates’ title character. This marks his first gig since the cancellation of that Fox action series.

Here are other spoilers for the second season of Harry’s Law:

  • Karen Olivo, who originated the role of Vanessa on Broadway for In the Heights, will also portray a new lawyer on the drama.
  • After getting killed off Hawaii Five-0, Jean Smart will stop by for at least three episodes. Her character will prosecute an accused murderer played by Alfred Molina.

Do you think Mark Valley is a good replacement?

Alfred Molina is back on NBC. This time he’ll be a murderer on Harry’s Law.

The veteran actor will appear on the first three episodes of Harry’s Law next season as a man accused of killing his wife. Based on his work in Spider-Man 2, there’s no doubt Molina can pull of scary and shady.

Harry’s Law returns to NBC on Wednesday, September 21. This news comes a few weeks after the show shook up its cast a bit and released two regulars.

Any comments so far about the season 2 spoilers of Harry’s Law?

Two out, two in! Let’s meet the two new characters on the upcoming second season of Harry’s Law.

A week after Brittany Snow and Ali Ameen were let go as series regulars, Harry’s Law has announced plans to add a pair of new characters on season two.

Here are the two new characters:

  • Olivier Pritcher: A successful attorney described by NBC as “handsome, a bit wolfish and an irresistible charmer.” Look for him to ask for Harry’s help on a very high profile murder case.
  • Cassie Reynolds: A new associate at the firm, described as “bright, attractive and eager.”
So who are your casting bets for these roles?

I am not really a great fan of this Harry’s Law season 2 spoiler.

There are only four mainstays on Harry’s Law Office, and now they removed half of them.

TV Line reports that Brittany Snow and Ali Ameen have exited the NBC series, with insiders referring to the move as a “mutual decision” arrived at between the actors and the producers.

Harry’s Law was an unexpected hit for NBC when it came along at midseason.

However, there was never really any place for Snow’s Jenna, a secretary, or Ameen’s Malcom, a paralegal. Both could apper again as guest stars.

I think the positive side on this is that they’ll introduce new characters. But who are they?

“Last Dance” is a perfect season finale for Harry’s Law. Well, the case touches one controversial matter which is death penalty but I think character and relationship developments brought this episode to another level. About the title, we can surely interpret it in many possible ways.

In “Last Dance,” we wrapped up the first season with Puck doing his last dance as a D.A. and cleaning out his office and offering advice on the Brian Jones case.

While Rachel and Adam attempting to get a convicted murder a chance at his last dance in the form of a second appeal. Of course, it was also the season finale.

And that last one could become the most poetic; you may or may not know, that the fate of Harry’s Law has not yet been decided. While most signs are good, there has been no official word on if NBC will renew the show.

I was glad that Jenna admitted that she goes a little crazy at the beginning of a relationship.

This is good because anyone in recovery can tell you admitting you have a problem is the hardest step. Now that she and Malcolm both know she has a problem, they can find her some counseling and in two or three years she might be sane enough to date.

Do two different people write the relationships between Malcolm/Jenna and Adam/Rachel? There is such a night and day difference.

I know that Malcolm/Jenna are younger and are closer to the “teen angst” ages. But, when you look at the distance between “you need to kiss me in front of Harry to fix this” versus “I came here to tell you I love you more,” you can’t help but wonder.

Let me say up front that I am happy that Adam and Rachel look to be getting back together. Rachel has grown on me over the last 11 episodes and after seeing the two of them in the courtroom fighting for Brian, I agree with D.A. Kim Mendelsohn, they make a great team.

Adam brings the passion out in Rachel, and Rachel helps keep Adam from flying around the room like a balloon someone cut the knot off of. The final straw for me was the symmetry between Puck’s song and Rachel realizing how she felt for Adam. By the way, Puck has a great voice. I wonder what will he do on the second season? Still practice his legal profession? Or be a singer?

It is a good thing that the season 1 of Harry’s Law ended in a balance or should I say mild note. No suspense hanging. Meaning the characters are fine, although Adam and Rachel lost on their appeal, but hey there’s still the Supreme Court.

What about the green traffic light on the end of the season finale? In my own interpretation, that means that Harry’s Law will surely be on the “go” as it continues its awesome story line on the second season. Remember  we still have some interesting stories on the line such as the Albino case and the most latest the Jones Death Penalty Case.

With still lots to expect on Harry’s Law, I hope NBC will renew this great series. I will surely miss Harry’s fake smile.

Episode 11 of Harry’s Law titled “With Friends Like These” features another Harry versus Peyton showdown. But in this episode’s square off, something new occurred in the courtroom.

TV Fanatic: As Harry said, there are not many people grumpier than her. District Attorney Josh Peyton is one of those people, however, and the chemistry between the two of them has always been one of the best things about the show. When you put Kathy Bates on screen with Paul McCrane – who does an amazing job playing the hard-nosed, fast-talking, by-the-book jackhole D.A. – you get some of the best scenes to date.

This week was not exception, as Peyton went absolutely bat-crap-crazy when he lost to Harry… again! Watching Peyton strip his clothes off while berating the jury about its lack of upholding the law made me laugh so hard I had to rewind the DVR to actually hear what he was saying. I still haven’t gotten it all.

It’s amazing how far Harry has come this season. This week, she seemed to have evolved a tiny bit more when she went to check on the disgraced Peyton and befriended him (even learning his friends call him “Puck”).

Now that Peyton has left the D.A.’s office, I really hope we have not seen the last of him. Maybe Harry could bring him in as a third attorney. Actually, I am not sure if his personality is really right for such a position. He most likely would just “puck” things up for Harry and Adam.

As for Adam, he finally came clean with Chunhua and let her down as easily and nicely as he could. But when it came to him and Rachel, I felt like we were watching some kind of odd square-dance. Both join hands and mingle fine. One gets shot and now it’s kissing time. Other not expecting it, apology time. Both admit feelings, now its avoiding them time.

I know things can’t go smoothly right away. There wouldn’t be much plot in that case. It just comes across as really one-sided when Adam is being pathetic and chasing his ex-girlfriend, who has made it clear she is with someone. We need more of a sign of interest on Rachel’s part before I will invest emotion in hoping he gets her.

On the other side of the stock room door, we have Malcolm and Jenna still trying to get their romance ignited. Did I miss an episode since last week or did their date happen completely off camera? I was so confused when Jenna started giving him a hard time about not calling after their night out. Hey, David E. Kelly, was there a reason we couldn’t interrupt some of those scenes of Rachel and Adam playing emotional tetherball to show Jenna and Malcolm on a date?

Then again, when Jenna and Malcolm finally did get some camera time, I can only place the results in the category of “Get the Puck out of here!” Did Jenna really tell Malcolm if they were going to date she would need to train him, like she has done all her other boyfriends?

Malcolm, I feel we have gotten to know each other over the last few weeks, and let me share something with you: She is not that hot and you do not need to be trained. You are not some Teacup Poodle she can carry around in a bag. I have one word for you bro: RUN. Run fast, run far, and don’t look back.

You were right when you said she was a nut job; don’t second guess yourself. This is the type of behavior that leads to you coming home and finding every picture in your house replaced with ones of her.

Harry’s Law is really great especially on its closing scene, kinda like Grey’s Anatomy style, but even better I guess. Next week’s season finale will surely be a great one, I know it and I’ll be hoping that it will not disappoint me.

At first, I thought Episode 10 “Send in the Clowns” will feature humor plus lawyering. But unfortunately, I watched the whole episode and indeed there is humor, but below of what I’ve expected.

Typically, I really like guest star Richard Kind’s work, going back to his work on Spin City and Mad About You. However, had you asked me to describe an ex-boyfriend of Harry, I would not have picked his character of Slumach.

Consider the odd pairing: Harry and her strong integrity and moral character dating a fast-talking loose, moral individual such as Marty. Would a Patent Attorney really end up dating Law Trash?

Then again, maybe it was Kind cast in the role of Marty that really had me scratching my head. I have always seen him in more comedic roles; actually, except for his recent guest appearances on Burn Notice, I can’t really remember any other serious roles.

It seems to me that if you are going to cast someone like Kind who has decades of comic knowledge under his belt, you would plan on the character being a bit more in his wheel house. Scenes like him threatening the doctor with a trip to the wood shed and blowing up at Harry, while very well acted, didn’t feel natural coming from the actor.

Meanwhile, does anyone else feel like the romance between Malcolm and Jenna has been tacked on to the show the way every restaurant in California sticks a lemon wedge on tea?

I think David E. Kelly is an amazing writer; but he may be letting an assistant write this sub-plot.  It plays like it was penned by a first-year college student who grew up on 80s teen romance movies.

Last week, Jenna was mad at Malcolm because he wasn’t asking her out. This week, Malcolm is mad at Jenna because she said she tends to date beneath herself. What’s next? Is Ducky going to show up to take Jenna to the prom? Is Malcolm going to admit he is still in love with his ex-girlfriend who gave him a pen when he gave her his heart?

To round out my confusion and disappointment with this episode, we have the last scene of Kathy Bates doing a monologue. First, it made no sense in the context with regards to the people that they flashed to. Second, it did not fit within the context of the case she worked on or the one Adam took.

What was the point of Harry walking down the street talking about the people we meet and showing two regular cast members and two guest stars? It seemed like it was a dramatic build up, and then… nothing. No pay off, just confusion. Had the credits not rolled at that moment I would have thought the show got cut off.

Well, I expect a better Harry’s Law episode next week.

What about you?
