Creativity plus imagination equals good episode for Castle. Kudos to the writers, they really make every episode worth watching!

TV Fanatic: On “Punked,” Castle and Beckett learned all about the concept of exclusive parties themed in prior generations, while Castle was given the chance to toss out a handful of hysterical one-liners.

Although the murder mystery was not my favorite, the costumes used were amazing. I appreciated the attention to detail, which made up for a far-fetched storyline that jumped around to much. Not the best episode I have seen from this series, but still entertaining.

This episode largely focused on the Castle/Alexis relationship. Through this pairing, we got to see a different side of the author that isn’t always sarcastic and joking. It was sweet to see him care about the repercussions of his relationship with his daughter now that she has a boyfriend of her own.

The end of the hour not only blindsided both Castle and this critic: Who is this mystery guy picking up our beloved Kate? Although spoilers have led us to know we will be meeting a love interest for Beckett, I did not expect it happen tonight.

My heart dropped watching Castle’s reaction to Kate’s new beau. Why has she been hiding him?

Compared to episodes 1 and 2, I think this week’s episode of Castle proves that it is still  one of the best cop-oriented TV series ever. TV Fanatic says:

Only this series could get away with having an installment focused on discovering the location of stolen jewels from a treasure map. Although this seems like a ridiculous premise for an adult show, Castle nailed it. The episode displayed the quick wit we have grown to love, as well as the love/hate banter between Castle and Beckett.

“Under The Gun” introduced us to a husky voiced man from Beckett’s past, Mike Royce, who would make for a great recurring character on the show. There was definitely some romantic tension between him and Beckett that would be interesting to explore. Also, any chance to show the jealous side of Castle is okay with me.

Speaking of love interests, there was no mention of Castle’s ex-wife/current girlfriend in tonight’s episode. She hasn’t appeared in this season at all, not even on a phone call. Here is hoping that the writers have recognized that this storyline isn’t working and are on their way to making it completely non-existent.

So what are your expectations for the episode 3?

The season premiere is not that good. The second episode of Castle is good though I think it can really get even better!

    Castle review from TV Fanatic:

With the awkwardness of Castle’s return behind the show’s title character and Beckett, the partners quickly got folded into a strange murder case on this week’s episode, “He’s Dead, She’s Dead.”

We were teased back in July that someone close to Castle was going to die. Last night, we found out that the never seen, yet often mentioned Chet, (Martha’s boyfriend) was the one who perished.

I am disappointed it turned out to be a character we never met that died, as we had no attachment to Chet. It really seemed like an odd thing to tease months ago for such an underwhelming result.

On the flip side, we did learn that Rick Castle’s real name is Richard Alexander Rogers (or as my wife pointed out, the initials spell “RAR!”). I am intrigued how this may come into play down the lone. With the psychic’s daughter rushing in to tell Beckett that someone named Alexander will become important to her and save her life, there was some serious foreshadowing going on. Of course, given how the hyped death went, he may just prevent her from stepping in front of a bus.

My disappointment with who died aside, this was another very well written episode. As always, we were trying to figure out until the end who actually committed the murder. Adding a second layer onto of the murder, of Beckett and Castle debating magic and the supernatural, was both hysterical and touching.

It was great how the writers showed both versions of a medium/psychic. First, Vivian turned out to most likely be a fraud, but then her daughter Penny seemed to have some real talent, as the Masons did lead them to the truth.

Finally, I want to give kudos to Nathan Fillion for his ability to work a reference for his love of the double rainbow guy into the show. For all of us geeks out here who caught the reference, it will become a classic!

Castle has joined the premiere photo mania of different TV series opening this month.

When this show returns on September 20, Beckett has not heard a word from her partner since he left for the Hamptons to complete his novel. Therefore, you can imagine her surprise when she bursts into an apartment to follow a case – and finds Castle standing over a dead body. Holding a gun.

The story may revolve from here and the succeeding events pose a big question of “what will happen next?” Below are the season 3 episode 1 spoiler pictures of Castle.
