Two main events that we saw in episode 11 of Castle titled “Till Death Do Us Part” – a murder case and the wedding of Ryan and Jenny. Let’s dig in.

The Pick Up Artist Goes Down. In more ways than one. The weekly case focused on a pick up artist who played women to find out espionage secrets. This was a fun twist, being that it dealt with his career instead of just trying to pick up women. The best parts about it? The code names for the pick up moves (that Espo later used) and the victim’s ledger of conquests. In that ledger was a woman we were getting ready to see walk down the aisle…

Ryan’s Wedding Is Finally Here! The latest installment featured the wedding of Ryan and Jenny, and although it was the shortest scene ever, it was pretty sweet. I had hoped that more time would be spent on the event, especially after the lead up to it. But, hey, us fans will take what we can get.

The Highlights:

After finding out Lanie is bringing a date, Javi searchers for the perfect plus one. Loved that both wanted to bring someone because the other one was. What made it awesome was that their dates ended up being a cousin and a gay man. Here is hoping to a Lanie/Javi rekindling. Espo is too awesome to be alone.

In preparation for the wedding, Ryan goes on a cleanse with Jenny. I didn’t care to much for the idea until it led into the donut fight between Ryan and his partner. This was awesome.

The wedding of Ryan’s character marked an especially special occasion. Seamus Deaver walked down the aisle towards his real life wife, Juliana. The two have been married since 2006 and got to experience a short but sweet expensive wedding on TV. Ryan’s excitement felt real in the wedding scene, and no wonder, he was getting ready to “marry” his wife all over again.

Beckett and Castle decide to be each other’s plus ones! Although there wasn’t really any movement on the romance situation, Beckett is definitely starting to put herself out there again. Besides, the girl looked gorgeous!! Stana Katic is seriously beautiful. I couldn’t have been alone in my reaction of seeing those two walking down the aisle hand and hand to their seats. I’m willing to bet the rest of the Caskett shippers were smiling at their screens, too.

Definitely a solid start for Castle season 4. What did you think about the events in this episode?

Last night’s Castle titled “Heroes & Villains” was a perfect one for me. I didn’t really know why but I really enjoyed it. So let’s figure out what happened.

TV Fanatic: Heroes & Villains reminded me of last seasons, “Close Encounters of the Murderous Kind.” A little out there, a little goofy, a whole lot of perfection from Nathan Fillion. Being a “nerd” really is his forte and it is very clear that the writers like to give his fan base what they want.

Kate Beckett = Elektra. Who knew that the infamous detective preorders Derrick Storm graphic novels and bought her first comic at age 14? Part of the fun between the two lead characters is their witty banter, and doing this over comics? Pure fun.

In fact, as outlandish as this episode was, it boiled down to just that – pure fun. After some heavy episodes last season and an emotional premiere, it felt good to have a Castle episode that was light hearted and entertaining.

Character Development. Even with the weekly case, the writers still found time to do some character building.

Captain Gates? Maybe she does have a heart…maybe not. Either way, she will be warming up to the Nikki Heat novelist in no time.

Speaking of – anyone else catch those glances and grins between Castle & Beckett at the end?

How dare Officer Hastings come at Beckett so hard in the interrogation room? Bringing up Beckett’s mother is touchy and this will end up being a slippery slope for Kate if she can’t maintain composure.

Shout Outs. Iron Man. Spiderman. Batman. Pretty much every comic book character that has inspired children to want to be superheroes got a shout out. Stan Lee got his name dropped and HBO series Game of Thrones made it’s network debut by word of mouth. Loved everything about this, really felt like home for the series.

The Lone Vengeance. A fun case that had twists and turns about who our real superhero was. Have to admit, never expected the vigilante to be one of NY’s finest. Even in a case designed for pure entertainment, the writers still managed to catch us off our toes. Kudos.

Family Life. Once again Martha was pretty much useless. On a brighter note, Alexis is getting an arc of her own! Castle came to grips that his little girl will be heading off to Stanford to be with her boyfriend. The conversation between these two about always doing what is right was so necessary. Let’s hope that before she leaves for school, she finds a way to get into some real teenager like trouble.

Scene Stealer: The Lone Vengeances….the alley way, the apartment, the interrogation room. All of our impersonators put on a performance that made for some laughs.
Best Quote: No question.

Castle: A writer and his muse solving crime, just like us.

Overall, a fun episode for the series who balances the seriousness with the laughter. Still looking forward to some more bromancing with our male detectives and Castle.

Dean Norris will visit Castle season 4 this fall.

The actor, who is unknowingly on the hunt for his brother-in-law as a DEA agent on Breaking Bad, will guest star on the ABC hit as a hostage negotiator, according to TV Line.

No air date has been announced for Norris’ appearance, but the installment will find Castle and his mother inside a bank while a robbery takes place, and Beckett looks on helplessly.

What can you say about this?

“Rise” Castle fans, our favorite show is back with a bang! So what did we see on the season 4 premiere of Castle? There were confessions, arguments and new characters.

TV Fanatic: Beckett is alive! Ok, this comes as a shock to nobody, but it was great seeing our favorite female detective back on her feet. Girl is doing more thank alright, too, admitting that she remembers everything from the shooting, and even more importantly, Castle’s confession!

Captain “Iron” Gates is no Montgomery. Penny Johnson has joined the cast to replace Captain Montgomery.
We were warned she was going to be tough and, boy, was that the truth. I have reservations about this character, though. I don’t think she can stay on opposite ends of the team for too long, so let’s hope she ends being a Caskett shipper like the rest of us. Either way, there is no replacement for the severely missed Roy Montgomery.
More Screen Time for Bromances! There was definitely a spike in screen time for Ryan and Esposito. Let’s hope this continues throughout the season, shall we? If anyone deserves it, it is these two. Plus, how can you not love the bromance between these two and Castle? Anyone else love when Ryan mentioned that Castle would have loved the case?

The Real Case: After the finale, I could not figure out how they could make Beckett’s mother’s case any better. For me, there was no getting better than finding out about Montgomery’s involvement. Here is hoping that season four provides the same twists that keep this case the backbone of the series.

My other thoughts about Castle premiere:

  • Castle and Beckett’s exchanges in the hospital = pure chemistry.
  • She broke up with Josh!!
  • Beckett remembers everything. Who is with me in saying that I cannot wait for the conversation between her and Castle about those three little words?
  • Who is the man that Montgomery sent the files to and called Castle?

Castle season 4 premiere had an early screening for selected audience. So if you want to know what some critics think about it then check the reaction below.

I feel a little better saying perhaps the deep issues that will be dealt with will be scattered throughout the season as they have been in the past. That said, prepare for some not-necessarily-love-related issues to make your heart ache. Particularly one scene that shows a side of someone we’ve never seen before.

The park scene everyone has been all excited about? It’s as deep and as good as we all imagined…but not for the reason you might be thinking.

We will discover what Montgomery put in the envelope in the S3 finale during the first episode. But it definitely opens up some more questions in the process.

Castle season 4 premiere titled “Rise” airs on September 19, 2011.

One big spoiler revealed by the premiere photos of Castle season 4:  Kate Beckett survived her shooting.

This has never really been a question, but the following season four premiere photos prove that this detective recovers from events in the May finale and makes it back to the precinct. Castle, however?

He’ll be racked with guilt, as depicted in the first official trailer for the September 19 opener, “Rise.”

What do you think will happen now in the storyline of Castle?
