Naima Adedapo was eliminated last Thursday on American Idol maybe because she was just too wacky for a teenage-rich American idol voters. But indeed, she will not be forgotten as her story is so inspirational and her talent is simply exceptional.

Below is the exit interview of Naima with Zap2It.

About the female contestants having a harder time:

“When it comes down to it, the reality is that more than 50% of the audience is teenage girls and once they get a crush, we’re done. They dominate and that’s alright, ya know? I feel like the girls didn’t really have too many conversations about it because we were all pretty confident in our work. It is the reality of the situation and the teenyboppers, once they fall in love … my audience is the older crowd, not necessarily as technology-savvy sometimes. I would get people saying, ‘Yeah, I voted for you three times!’ and it’s like well, you could vote 500 [laughs] … that’s just the reality of the situation.”

On Lauren Alaina taking it hard when Naima and Thia were eliminated:

“She cried a little bit, but that’s a natural thing. It’s alright to do that. I think it was very hard for her because not only was it like me kind been a mother figure a bit, telling her to have confidence in herself and telling her she’s beautiful, but I think even more so it was Thia. That was like her age, they were in school together all the time. They were really close and really tight. It really is like losing a best friend. I had my moment saying see you later to Jacob, that’s been my ace, so you get emotionally attached to these people, you start to learn their stories, you start to learn their personalities, and it hurts to see people go.”

What was her favorite part of the experience:

“Shopping! [laughs] I think that was like one of the biggest, best parts for me. Performing is everything, but when you get to shop and you get to do the accessories and the shoes, oh my god, I get such a kick out of that … That was my release time. It was great to kind of co-create things with [Soyon An, the ‘Idol’ stylist]. She knew my style. She would have stuff hanging on the rack before we even went shopping. That was one of the best parts for me.”

On her dancing background:

“I have been part of many dance troupes actually. I used to do hip-hop, but for most of my life it’s been African dance. Any African dance company that you name in Milwaukee, I’ve been a part of. Dancing has always been a part of my life, since I was young, just playing around on the streets in Chicago. I did go to college and study dance, I got a BFA in dance, so I know all different forms of dance. I could’ve tapped on some ballet if I wanted to, but it’s not necessarily my realm [laughs] would’ve looked a little weird doing pirouettes in a reggae song, but dance is something I’m really connected to. I’ve always incorporated dance into my performances. I had a reggae band back home with my husband and we always move on stage, it’s a natural for us. You have to dance, you have to move, you have to physically be engaged in order to fully connect with the audience.”

On the unique style she brought to “American Idol”:

“For me, I’m really about staying true to myself. Once I have my mind set on something, I just kind of go out there and do it. I did what I did and I have no regrets about anything I’ve done on the show and I’m happy to have shown that side of me. I think sometimes people just didn’t know where to place me. I felt like maybe they didn’t understand me sometimes, but honestly, the reactions that I’ve gotten from people have still been positive. It’s like, ‘I don’t know about you but I still kinda like you.’ I definitely struck people in a different kind of way. I think ’cause it was hard to place me in a certain category, that did have an effect on how people voted or how they perceived me.”

With her not-so-long stint on Survivor Redemption Island, Krista Klumpp has proven that she is a competitor with a very deep and strong faith. It just happened that she fell on the wrong alliance which is really quite unfortunate for her.

After being sent home, HitFix had an interview with the 25-year-old pharmaceutical rep. You can read the full interview below.

HitFix: So every week, people head off to Redemption Island and they’re all determined to beat Matt and stay in the game and then they end up seeming almost honored to be eliminated by him. What’s up with Matt?

Krista Klumpp: I think it’s something powerful that is non-explainable. You know? He’s like the perfect person to have there for people who are going out. It’s hilarious how his personality is so magnetic and he creates a great atmosphere and a stress-free atmosphere and an enlightened atmosphere. It’s nothing like when you’re at your camp. I always felt like I was going to come out the winner, but if I didn’t, I was OK with Matt being the one to beat me, because I think he has a chance and I like his strength.

HitFix: But everybody who’s being eliminated is coming back from Redemption Island saying the same thing. Do you think that makes Matt extra-dangerous if he gets back into the game?

KK: Well, I don’t know how it’s going to work with getting back into the game, because you don’t know when it is or how that’s all going to play out. But yeah, if he does get back into the game, he’s going to be a huge threat. You know, Rob voted him out for a reason, because he felt like he was going to be a threat and just for that matter in general, his getting back in would be really hard for him, if he has that chance.

HitFix: Let’s go back to the beginning of the game. In your “Survivor” bio, you said that the contestant you knew you’d be compared to would be Natalie White. And there you are standing on the beach and down comes a helicopter and out steps Russell. What went through your mind?

KK: [She laughs.] Crap. I’m going home first. That was honestly it. When they were pulling for buffs, I was thinking, “Please don’t have Russell pick ours, because he’s going to look at me as being a lot like Natalie and Natalie beat him.” That was my thought process. And when we get to our camp, I wanted to know everyone’s thought process on Russell, I was feeling like if he’s gonna go after me in the beginning, I hope that everybody’s going to be  ready to get him off. That was my first thought. But everyone was OK with him. Everybody liked the fact that he was going to use his experience, his expertise to help our tribe and stay strong. Those were the words that I got, exactly, from people like Steve and Mike. So in the beginning, I was like, “Great. Russell’s not gonna like me, cuz I’m like Natalie and everyone likes Russell because he’s going to bring his experience and I’m gonna be the first to go.” But it just so happened that Russell looked at me as being an asset to him, because he thought I’d be a lot like Natalie and they had a great alliance and made it to the end. But then everyone got paranoid with Russell’s gameplay and how he made them think about the game all the time and I just happened to be on the other side once their thought process changed.

HitFix: So he approached you and you found yourself in an alliance with him. How much did you trust him? How much did you like being in that position there?

KK: I trusted him in the beginning as much as I needed to at that point, to tell you the truth. When Russell came to me at first about who he thought would be strong in an alliance of five, I was like, “Well, what’s your thought process like all the way to the end?” And Russell flat-out said, “I’m not going to promise you anything.” I liked that. He’s not saying, “I’m gonna take you to the end. We’re gonna be the Final 3. Done deal.” He was honest and he was like, “I’m not gonna go and say that. All I’m gonna say is that in this five that I think we’ll have, I want you to be a part of it.” And I was like, “That’s fine. Let me make it to the five, and I’ll do the rest.” So that’s where my trust lined up with him in the beginning.

HitFix: And how did things progress?

KK: Well, as you saw, I think everybody started to see Russell and Stephanie and I just having normal conversations, just talking, and most of the time it wasn’t about the game, but I think they just looked at that and got so paranoid with Russell’s past and thought that Russell was going straight into playing the game with just me and Stephanie and that was it. Instead of thinking, “Oh great, Russell normally takes two, well he’s gotta have more numbers,” they just got so paranoid with the three. That’s funny to me. To me, even if they thought that they weren’t part of the three, I would think they’d want to be four or five, because of Russell’s track record, and then they could find a way to vote Russell out, if that’s what they want to do later on. But not in the beginning. I don’t know, they just got paranoid with Russell’s track record with Stephanie and I and they have such fun, strong personalities that I was attracted to that. They talked about the game all the time. They had so much to say, Russell had so much to say about the game and what options there were and how this could happen and play out. He was thinking about the future too and when the Merge came and all of that stuff. He didn’t have anybody penned down like “Let’s vote this person out” or “Let’s vote that person out.” That all just came when we realized that we had to.

HitFix: And what was your relationship with Stephanie like? How much did you trust her?

KK: In the beginning, when Russell came to me about the fact that he wanted to trust Stephanie, I was really worried about that. I asked him a couple of times, “Are you sure you trust her? I don’t know about that…” Because Stephanie is very opinionated. From the first word, it’s “This is what I think. Let me do this. Let me do this.” That kind of thing. You see it very clearly. So I was cautious about Stephanie from the beginning, but Russell saw something in her that he could trust. And once I got to see what he saw, he was right. He has great judgment on who he picks in alliances.

HitFix: What did you grow to see?

KK: I didn’t know if my personality was going to mix with hers, but once I realized that she had great intentions for the game and the alliance and her strategic thought process and once I saw how strong she was as a person and as an individual — both in general, but also in the game — I was so impressed with that and sold on the fact that she’s definitely someone who I wanted to align with and to go to the end with, too. My thought process was that if we could all three make it to the end, I felt like she was going to stir up so much with the other tribe members, because she had such a strong personality, that I would get more votes in the end. I felt like it was going to work out pretty well for me, assuming that we were going to be in the Final Three.

HitFix: So how was it, then, that after Russell went out, you became the next target rather than Stephanie. Do you have a sense of why you were viewed as the bigger threat?

KK: I’ve been saying this, I don’t know if there was a rhyme or reason to their decision. That’s my take on it and why I keep saying that they’re not playing the game. I feel like it was just a toss-up, one or the other. I don’t think they thought “Krista could be more trustworthy” or “Krista, when we get to the merge, could really align with some of the other girls and make those connections” or I don’t think they were like, “Well, Stephanie’s gonna be stronger in challenges.” I don’t think they even talked about that. That’s what I mean by saying that I couldn’t see any of their strategic thought process. Mike said that they were playing, but I have yet to see it on TV. I don’t know. I can’t give them any strategic thought process on whether it was going to be Stephanie or me.

HitFix: As a last question… Time to put on your Hypothetical Hat: If Russell doesn’t walk onto the beach that first morning, how do you imagine your game would have played out? Who do you think you would have found yourself aligning with under different circumstances?

KK: Without Russell and knowing the personalities, I think that from the beginning I would have connected very well with Stephanie, Dave… um… And that’s about it.

HitFix: So you would have found yourself in a minority regardless?

KK: Yeah. I really feel like that. I’m telling you… The conversations that I had, it was really like hearing a tape recorder over and over and over of the same story, the same boring story, nothing deeper. That’s what I mean when I said that I got to see Matt, talk to Matt, he had so much more substance in his first five sentences than I had heard in the entire time with the people on my tribe.

As of now, Survivor Redemption Island is a bit boring. There are few surprises or blindsides, and the drama and strategy around the camp are simply lacking.

After Casey Abrams was voted out and saved last Thursday on American Idol, reports say that he began hyperventilating and then fell to the floor in the hallway.

TMZ.com: We’re told “A.I.” staffers helped Casey up and put him in a chair so he could calm down.

Ironically, his song choice Thursday was “I Don’t Need No Doctor.”

Our “Idol” spies tell us … Casey felt horrible that the judges used their save for him, saying “I feel really bad that other contestants might have to go home now because they [the judges] used the save on me.”

Casey had a rough day Thursday.  He got a blood transfusion in the morning because of ongoing problems with internal bleeding.

Now, I feel Casey. I’m sure he will return next week with a crazy sexy beast performance!

If there is one reason why Karen Rodriguez should be happy despite being eliminated on American Idol, then it would be the surprise of Nick Jonas to her.

Nick Jonas surprised American Idol eliminee Karen Rodriguez during a recent appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.

The contestant had previously admitted that a major reason she auditioned for the show was because her sister Karol thought she might be able to meet Jonas through the experience.

While detailing her sister’s love for Jonas on KIIS-FM’s On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Monday morning, the singer was stunned to turn around and see the youngest Jonas Brother standing behind her.

Jonas explained that he had been attending SXSW in Texas when he heard what Rodriguez had said about him so decided to get on a plane back to Los Angeles to meet her. Rodriguez then told him that she had wanted to sing ‘Burnin’ Up’ on the show.

“I think this tops my American Idol experience!” she added. “This is all my sister wanted. I’m so glad I can make her dream come true by trying to make mine come true.”

Jonas then called Karen’s sister live on air to serenade her with ‘When I Look You in the Eyes’, before saying she would be a guest at the next Jonas Brothers concert in LA.

Well, at least Karen is happy and I hope she’ll have a very fruitful career. The competition continues on American Idol this Wednesday with their Motown tracks performances.

Here is an interesting news for everybody especially Stefano Langone’s die hard fans.

According to Star Magazine, American Idol finalist Stefano Langone, who spoke tearfully during the auditions phase about a car crash he was involved in which was caused by a drunk driver, was himself arrest for driving under the influence a year later.

The Kent, Washington native, a favorite of judge Jennifer Lopez this season, failed a sobriety test after being pulled over by a Washington State Patrol trooper for speeding and changing lanes without signaling.  Registering higher than the state’s legal alcohol test limit, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driven to police headquarters. Says the mag, quoting the arrest report: “While en route, Langone began singing.”

Langone only turned 22 last month. On Idol, he credited the accident, which forced him to relearn how to walk, for changing his life.

American Idol fans, here is the latest news on what will happen later on American Idol 10 Top 13 performances. Will the performance be pre-taped?

It seems yes. According to TV Guide, American Idol will pre-tape Wednesday night’s performance show tomorrow, rather than have all 13 finalists sing live. In every season until now, the show has always gone live after selecting the final group. But this year, that group — the Top 13 — has become a little unwieldy.

According to sources close to the show, the pre-taping strategy is being put into play this week — and possibly next week, too — so that producers can be sure to fit all the performances and critiques into a two-hour slot. American Idol has had to accommodate 13 singers only once before, in Season 8.

The producers are also hoping to iron out some kinks in the sound levels, after some viewers complained that the band sometimes drowns out the vocalists. The show’s new musical director, Ray Chew, says he’s well aware of the problem. “What happens, especially during a live show, is that a lot of the contestants don’t have a lot of experience when it comes to mike technique,” he says. “And so they will change the level themselves. But we will make sure that we pay attention to that, because we want to make sure that America can hear them. I’m gonna go in and make sure they turn those vocals up.”

So are you in favor of pre-tape or live performances?

Make sure to join the poll HERE.
