True Blood season 4 really gave us an intense and exciting episode last week. Now, let’s move forward and see this latest casting news..

True Blood fanatics, you heard it right, Denis O’Hare will reprise the role of Russell Edgington.

Bill and Eric made the decision to bury the former King of Mississippi last summer, of course, rather than actually kill him. Rumors of his return have run rampant ever since and O’Hare confirmed in an interview with Film School Rejects that Alan Ball has chosen to delay it until early next season.

“They were definitely bringing me back, it was just a matter of if they wanted to bring me back the last couple episodes [of season four] or bring me back at the beginning of season five,” the actor said.”

He added that there’s “no limit” to Edgington’s actions and that “I love that Russell has this intense passion for life; literally a passion for living and a passion for life.”

This is indeed an early season 5 spoiler for True Blood. But I still want to focus on this season as I really see it very promising.

The season 4 premiere of True Blood prepared everything for this season and episode 2 titled “You Smell Like Dinner” started the expected exceptional run for the show.

TV Fanatic: Having gotten a close glimpse at all of it on “You Smell Like Dinner,” I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come. Through a series of revealing quotes, let’s review what went down…

Technology takes all the fun out of being a vampire. Seriously, how funny is Pam? And how cool is it for the show to meld together this supernatural universe with the actual issue of how cell phones and social networks have affected the actions of those in the spotlight?

I can eat who I want. In many ways, Jessica is the most interesting character on True Blood. She’s young, she’s confused, she’s new to this world and she’s in love. And she’s portrayed in an fun, adorable fashion by Jessica Hamby. I love the focus on her through two episodes.

You’ve got Queen on you. I also love flashbacks. It was fun to see Stephen Moyer use his real accent in that scene from 1982 and it added more layers to Bill to see how he truly arrived in Bon Temps. It wasn’t because he was spying for Sophie-Ann. It was because he was spying for Nan Flanagan ON Sophie-Ann. The further we get away from Bill as merely a guy in love with Sookie, the better.

I mean… what the fuck? Well said, Lafayette. I didn’t put together the dangers that Marnie’s bird resurrection could create for vampires. But now it makes perfect sense why Bill and Eric would see this ability as such a threat. More great work from Fiona Shaw as Marnie and more intrigue from this coven. The storyline even did a strong job weaving in Tara’s return.

It will only hurt in the beginning. Jason as a were-panther? At least that gives this Hotshot storyline a purpose. And at least it gave us a major glimpse at Ryan Kwanten’s abs.

There are two Sookies; Why do you smell so good? Yes, Eric gets two quotes, and neither even references how hilarious he is as a landlord. (New microwave? Cool. New cubby? A gift too far.)

While the concept of Sookie as a fairy seems a bit cheesy, it instantly becomes more interesting if such a realization provides the character with a new viewpoint on life, along with new references to spreading her legs for Eric. Hot and potentially fascinating stuff all around.

And then we have Eric as an innocent, lost, wandering soul. Spoilers had revealed this spell-based change was on the way, so it didn’t come as a shock. But it opens up a multitude of possibilities for an Eric that is now Bill’s subordinate… and isn’t even aware of the fact that the roles were once reversed. Might this vulnerability land him in that shower with Sookie?

Who said that Tommy Mickens is a bad guy? He’s a good one. Good at being bad.

Marshall Allman had an interview with TV Guide analyzing his character on True Blood and saying “he wants to be loved.” Hence, his current living arrangement with Hoyt’s mother.

“Everything Tommy’s doing, he’s always trying to do it for good,” Allman says. “He thinks he’s doing something right and he’s justified in some way… Sam and Tommy are trying to see if one another is trustworthy to be brothers. That’s what we’re working toward.”

Here are the other events that you should not miss:

  • A new shapeshifting discovery will shake things up: “All of the animals have been kind of non-consequential, but the new animal is going to be game-changing.”
  • Sam’s past will return to haunt him.

In the end, Allman says his character will “get what he deserves,” while offering fans the following season finale tease: “Nobody’s safe in Bon Temps.”

So what can you say about this scoop?

What a way to start season 4 for True Blood. “She’s Not There” picked up twelve and a half months after events on the September finale and I was really delighted with this season premiere. Find out what happened below.

TV Fanatic: Until the final few moments, this made for an episode that managed to feel both busy and slow. A majority of the hour was spent catching the viewers up on the state of various characters – and I tune in to True Blood for sex, violence and hilarious lines such as Pam telling Jessica she’s “eye-fucking a fang-banger,” not exposition.

Okay, so Jessica is living with Hoyt and lusting after humans… Andy is hooked on V… Sam has joined some sort of shape-shifter support group… Tara has taken on a new identity (and a new lover, mystery solved!) in New Orleans… Lafayette has new, magical friends… Arlene is scared of her son… Nan Flanagan must rehab the image of vampires… Jason is a cop and is now in an icebox… fairy time moves slower than an episode of The Killing….

That’s A LOT to throw at us in one episode. Too much, really. But the jam-packed premiere was saved by these closing developments:

Bill is King of Louisiana?!? That would be an awesome enough surprise on its own, as Bill needs a storyline outside of merely protecting Sookie and it should be fun to watch him boss around Eric for a change.

But he also has some connection to/interest in the witches, clearly, as evidenced by the member of the coven who raced over to the mansion. He also could be getting it on with Portia Bellefleur, Andy’s sister, Sookie’s lawyer and someone I couldn’t blame the vampire for going after. Actress Courtney Ford, call me!

Marnie can revive parrots?!? A great, eerie debut by Fiona Shaw as the head of the creepiest clique in town. Marnie is instantly a fascinating character because she isn’t arriving on the scene with unexplained mystical powers and motives (cough… cough…  Mary-Ann… cough… cough…). It looks like we’ll actually watch her accumulate various spells and, I can only assume, devious plans to go along with them.

Sookie… is… Eric’s?!? Wow. I knew the housing market was bad, but I wasn’t aware they were offering such deals as ownership of the beautiful previous resident when you purchase these days. Think Eric got a low, fixed rate, too?

Seriously, though, what a smooth line Eric delivered upon seeing Sookie in the buff. What does it mean that she’s now “his?” There’s no way the show is hooking these two up already, this early in the season, right? And, if it does, how will the new King react? Fun questions to ponder.

I didn’t dislike any of the storylines presented, I just didn’t love the way they were all thrown at us so rapidly. But now that we’re here and now that True Blood has returned, we can all just sit back and let the fun – and sex, and gore, and suspense – flow.

Indeed, the events occurred very fast. But I don’t care as I like the storyline. I’ll expect more on episode 2 next week.

Team Eric, get ready for True Blood season 4 because this one is definitely yours!

Due to his run-in with witches, Alexander Skarsgard’s vampire will face some serious problems in the weeks ahead. But they may lead him into the arms of Sookie.

“The old Eric is gone,” Skarsgard said at the show’s premiere party this week. “He’s very innocent and naïve, and then he finds out who he is and what he’s done in the past – Eric has done some pretty bad things in the past – and it’s tough for him to digest that and to deal with that.”

How will such a vulnerable side affect his interactions with a certain faerie?

“She sees Eric in a whole new way,” Anna Paquin says. “Sometimes it takes a slight shift in perspective for people to see what’s right in front of them.”

In the fourth Charlaine Harris novel, on which this season is based, Eric and Sookie do finally sleep together. So, with Sookie still mad at Bill over his deception, will the series follow through on that this summer?

“If you know the books and you like the fourth book in the series, you won’t be disappointed,” creator Alan Ball hints. “[In that book], they have a pretty hot hookup that goes on for a while, but all I’m saying is fans of Team Eric will be very happy this year.”

Scott Foley will leave Seattle Grace for a while. Why? Because he’ll visit Bon Temps, Louisiana.
The Grey’s Anatomy guest star, who is expected back on season eight as Henry, has landed a key role on season four of True Blood.
According to Michael Ausiello, the former Felicity actor will take on the role of Patrick, a former army pal of Terry’s. Why will this veteran pay his friend a visit?
Any thoughts?

Here is an intriguing spoiler for True Blood season 4.

A heterosexual character will get involved in a same-sex relationship. But who will it be?

Michael Ausiello, who broke the news, said fans won’t too shocked after the reveal takes place.

Our guess? Tara, and here is why: it would make sense, given her history with men. And this is what Rutina Wesley told us in an exclusive interview that will go live tomorrow:

“In Season Four, we will see Tara in a whole new light. She’s stronger, fiercer, and has learned how to love herself… she’ll go on a journey she never even dreamed possible.”

Any comment about this one?

Below you can check the latest interview of Lindsay Pulsipher with TV Fanatic. What did she say about True Blood season 4?

Star in numerous scenes with Ryan Kwanten’s Jason Stackhouse, often while the latter was shirtless. The actress can look forward to more of the same on season four.

“I find it absolutely disturbing,” she joked with me in an interview today.

The third season finale featured Jason leaving Bon Temps for Hotshot, where he’ll be placed in charge of Crystal and her people. Her werepanther people, that is.

“There’s definitely a turn in Jason and Crystal’s relationship,” Pulsipher said. “You get to know the were-panthers a lot more.”

Interestingly, the actress had a chance to get to know her character a lot better, but turned it down. She said she read the first few Charlaine Harris Harris novels after landing the role, but actually stopped when Crystal was introduced.

“Alan Ball has his own take on the series,” she explained. “He respects the books, definitely, but he molds it to fit the TV format. I wanna look at Crystal through my own eyes and through the eyes of the writers instead of what was already written about her.”

Sounds reasonable to us.

But, come on, can’t she provide a few more True Blood spoilers? Anything to whet our appetite in anticipation of the June 26 premiere?

“It will be bigger and better than ever before,” is all Lindsay would say. “The show manages to outdo itself every season and this is no exception.”

We all know that there lots of hanging questions left by True Blood season 4. So will there be answers on season 4? Definitely! You can check some below.

TV Fanatic: When we last left Sam Merlotte, he was holding a gun to his brother’s head.

How will this development play out on season four of True Blood? Spoiler alert, Sam Trammell told me this week, Tommy survives.

“Tommy is there,” the actor said. “We still don’t know whether I shot him or not. But he’s definitely around.”

What about the rest of Sam’s family, who viewers met last year? They “come back to haunt me,” Trammell teased. “I can’t quite escape them.”

While Sam’s past won’t leave him alone this summer, his future will be consumed by a new love interest: a shape-shifter named Luna, played by Janina Gavankar.

“She’s part of a new shape shifter community that I meet,” Trammell said to me. “We explore the shape-shifting mythology a lot this season and flesh out more details as far as the role of shape-shifting in the world. We’ll meet others like Sam.”

This ought to sound familiar to readers of Charlaine Harris’ novels, on which True Blood is based. Trammell says to include him in that group, as he finds the author “incredible” and says he read the first few books in her series immediately after he was cast because he was just so excited about the role.

Viewers have come to feel the same way over the years. Trammell says he first realized the massive popularity of the show when the cast showed up for Comic-Con after season one and the crowd was twice what it had been 12 months earlier.

That figure doubled again a year later.

“You feel like you’re The Rolling Stones or something walking out on that stage,” he said of the experience at the event.

So what are your expectations for True Blood season 4?
