Thomas Lennon will guest on the season 1 finale of New Girl.

A spot opens up in Jess’ downtown loft with the boys when Nick (Jake Johnson) contemplates moving in with his ex-girlfriend, Caroline (returning guest Mary Elizabeth Ellis). Lennon, 41, will play Nick’s possible replacement, Neil.

What about the dirty little secret of Cece in New Girl season 1? We have some scoops about this.

“It does eventually come out to all the other roommates, which is dramatic, to say the least,” Greenfield dishes. “[They react with] a gambit of emotions, really. It’s a little shock, sadness, anger, disbelief, laughter. They go through everything.”

And no one’s going to be more shocked, sad, angry and disbelieved than Cece’s bestie:

“It’s a very interesting, wonderful episode when they find out because I feel like that was a big betrayal,” Simone says. “It’s the first time you see [Jess and Cece's] friendship go through a bit of a complicated situation.”

Hannah Simone:

“We shot something a couple weeks ago where Max sings a little bit in front of Cece. I felt like it was my hardest day of work in my life to not ruin the take and laugh through it because he kept making up lyrics. I call him unprofessionally funny because he will always make me break every take.”

Zooey Deschanel:

“Dermot [Mulroney] plays the father of a student in the class I teach, my sixth grade class. He is sophisticated and debonair and fancy and he like, engages me in playful banter and that was good. We end up starting a little thing, a little something-something over the course of some episodes.”

Jake Johnson:

“I think Nick falls in love with him…Russell sweeps Nick Miller off his feet. What’s surprising is his opinion of and relationship with Dermot Mulroney’s character. He spends a lot of time with him.”

Lamorne Morris:

My character is going to get a job at a radio station as a sports talk-radio guy. My boss, [played by] Phil Hendrie, treats me like crap and is an absolute d—. It’s pretty funny.”

Max Greenfield:

“Every once in a while I’ll put on a shirt to play Schmidt and go, ‘Man, this is too tight.’ I finally built up the confidence to sometimes say, ‘You know what? This is too much. I’m not wearing this today.’ There was a magenta number they tried to put me in. I was like, ‘Nope.’ It was a blouse, a small blouse. I would not do it. It was a half-shirt. But there’s a turquoise one that comes up. That thing was like spandex.”

Jeanne Tripplehorn is coming to New Girl season 1 to spice things up.

Dermot Mulroney will make his guest appearance as Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) handsome new boyfriend, Russell – complete with an ex-wife and a kid. And guess what? We’ll actually get to see this so-called ex-wife. Her character, to be portrayed by Big Love‘s Jeanne Tripplehorn, apparently has it in for Jess.

“…Tripplehorn has been cast to play Ouli, Russell’s ex-wife, who is going to make her ex’s new girl feel terrible any way she can.”

Look out for Jeanne Tripplehorn as Ouli in two episodes set to air sometime after Dermot Mulroney’s guest episode.

Everyone loves New Girl‘s breakout character Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and expect more story about him on the next episodes of New Girl season 1.

It was established early on that Schmidt used to be a “fat kid with big dreams,” but viewers have only seen Schmidt’s hefty history in flashbacks and via a hilarious video Greenfield posted of “Fat Schmidt” singing Rihanna’s “We Found Love” back in November.

Happily, we’re about to see more. Starting March 6, a series of episodes will offer more glimpses of “Fat Schmidt,” and EW have pictures showing Greenfield’s step-by-step transformation into his big-boned, big-hearted avatar. Greenfield also spilled details on Schmidt’s long-awaited hook-up with man-eating model CeCe (Hannah Simone) and talked a possible Schmidt-spin-off. So are Schmidt and CeCe relationship material? To which musician might Greenfield pay homage next? And what other characters’ embarrassing pasts will be exposed in the next few episodes?
