ABC is still silent about it but a reliable source tells Deadline that Desperate Housewives will come to an end following the 2011-2012 season.

Cast members Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria are reportedly taken aback by the news, as the drama was expected to have at least another year on ABC because the network has an option for season nine with all four actresses.

Instead, it looks like the series will wrap up in May. The September 25 premiere will mark the first time Marc Cherry is NOT serving as executive producer on the series. He stepped down this spring.
