I know it is a bit early to talk about this movie but if you are a certified Hugh Jackman fanatics then this news is definitely for you. USA Today released the first image of Jackman’s futuristic film titled “Real Steel.” The director of this robot boxing movie is Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Date Night).
“Real Steel” will also feature other stars such as Evangeline Lilly, Anthony Mackie, Dakota Goyo as Jackman’s son, James Rebhorn, Kevin Durand, Olga Fonda and Hope Davis. This movie is based on a short story by Richard Matheson and the film was written by John Gatins and Leslie Bohem. Currently, this movie is still on its filming stage as it is expected to be released initially on November 18, 2011.
I am not sure how people will embrace the concept of this movie but the plot is definitely unique. Maybe when the production is almost done then we can see more photos to see some scenes and rate it initially.
Movie synopsis:
“Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when a 2000-pound, 8-foot tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end robots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
