Nintendo has announced the coming of the latest and first ever 3D entries into the Pokemon gaming franchise, Pokemon X and Y. These games are said to be released on October 2013 across the world simultaneously, a first for the series. Both of these games  are the sixth-generation of the long and famous series. In the Nintendo direct broadcast, there was a video showing the colorful 3D environments, the three starting Pokemon and the old favorites, like pikachu, rendered in 3D. Many of the fans of the game series are quite happy of what has Nintendo done. Some really wanted Nintendo to create this kind of title for the series.

Both of the titles have connecting storyline so that in itself is a very unique trait for the title. Even though they are two separate games, players would still be able to trade their Pokemon to each other, a Pokemon from X can be traded with a Pokemon from Y and vice-versa.

As much as like any Pokemon game, the player starts with choosing from the trio of starter Pokemon – the water-type toad Froakie, grass-type chimpunk Chespin and the fire-type deer Fennekin. Pokemon X and Y are now set to feature a new set of Pokemon in its arsenal. It would feature a new and unique storyline and “dynamic” Pokemon battles. However, fans are most excited about the fact that the game would be rendered in 3D.

Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of the Pokemon Company, had this to say: “The worldwide launch of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y this October allows players to begin their adventures at the same time. Now, Pokemon fans across the globe can discover the secrets of Pokemon games and can collect, battle, and trade with each other immediately.”

Fans of the series would truly welcome the news that their favorite game would be rendered in 3D. Pokemon X and Y will be a breakthrough for the series, following their disappointing title, Pokemon Black 2. These games would really take the series on a whole other level.
